It’s important to know what you’re good at and what you’re not so good at. We’re great at board games, we love playing them, buying them, packing them, and shipping them out, and we love writing software that helps us do that.

What we’re not very good at is PR, and by that, I mean press relations. Writing that perfect press release, or being able to cold call a publication with a pitch for an article is not something we’re great at. And because of that we know that there are lots of board gamers that will probably never know we exist. Sure, the UK Games Expo in June this year is going to go some way to help that, but there are lots of other opportunities to help spread the word about Board Game Crate.

And that’s where this post comes in, you see we’re looking for someone or something (as in, a company, not a thing, like a lawnmower, because that would be silly, how would a lawnmower type an email) who can help us with press relations. We’d love to be featured in a newspaper article, or invited to talk about Board Games in a magazine or a mainstream website. Ideally, anyone who puts themselves or their company forward would have worked in the toy/game industry before, or they’ve got a passion to work in this area and have played some board games themselves.

It’s important to point out that we don’t have a huge budget, in fact, our marketing budget is probably the smallest amongst your existing clients and whilst we won’t be anywhere near your biggest client, we’d love to be able to get to point where we are. We’re a young company, we’re exceptionally passionate about what we do, and our first love is to our board games and our customers. We’re not in it to make lots of money (in fact any money we make, we put back into board-game Kickstarters), we’re in it to spread the world of Board Games as far and as wide as we can.
